About Me

I have been in the creative industry for the past decade, delivering digital user experiences for mobile, web, deigning video game user interfaces, creating digital marketing content, defining on-screen brand awareness and making the digital world a happier place. I hold a degree in Motion and Interactive Design(BA hons).
I am currently working as a Senior UX/UI Designer for an upcoming MMORPG based out of a studio in Paris, go check out the game(& the websites I designed).
I am originally from the United Kingdom, although I now live in Paris. In my free time, I enjoy watching rugby, playing table games, doing woodwork, and finding other outlets for my creativity.

Senior UX/UI Designer

Novaquark

Working for an independent game studio I represent the players user story in an upcoming MMORPG. In charge of the development of the user interface I am responsible for the full flow integration of the UI from initial concept, design and prototyping, through to the development and final execution. I take on the full spectrum of designing the user interface from the early stage design such as pen & paper sketches, photoshop concepts, illustator assets, then using protype software like Axure and balsamiq to test, refine and visualize the UX and through to the technical skills including writing code; HTML, CSS, SVG and using precompilers(LESS,SASS) I can convert to a final product. I am also familiar with the use of Atlassian project management tools ,jira, sourcetree, bitbucket, confluence and collaborating with other developers.

Experience in digital in-store screen strategies and its creative components; screens, lightwalls, touchscreen displays, motion posters, tablets. Fulfilled clients' communication objectives via creative channels. Designed marketing messages, branding, user interfaces, social media outlets, inspiring digital displays, ambient graphics, and engaging customer journeys.

Freelance Motion Designer

AtomGFX

I have always been creative, but I have not always been a designer. In an ambitious move, I took what was a hobby and turned it into a successful career in design. I worked hard for many hours alongside my former career as I transitioned career paths and followed my passion for creativity. I first started freelancing in 2004 under the pseudonym AtomGFX. In 2006, I took a major step forward as I left my former career and became a designer full-time. I went on to attend University(see below) and continued to work freelance to support my studying. As a freelancer I gained valuable experience in many disciplines; working for TV and post-production companies, digital solutions, computer game developers, and various branding and design agencies.

BA (Hons) MOTION GRAPHICS & INTERACTIVE DESIGN

University of Glamorgan, Wales

To excel as a creative, I attended the renowned Cardiff School of Creative Industries (University of South Wales). Here, I learnt about motion design principles, image manipulation, vfx, motion-tracking, video editing, production, project management, art theory, behavioural theory, design practice and critical studies. Whilst at University I sharpened my skills to become a master of After Effects and 3DS Max. I also took a strong interest in creative psychology and marketing. My dissertation "A Deadly Weapon; the Art of Persuasion" focused on the government agencies who used art as a tool of mass persuasion to help sell the war efforts of the early 20th century.

Creativity without design is just art, and art alone does not sell a product.

My creative objective as a designer is to inject personality into brands and products in original, entertaining and engaging ways. Whilst embracing creative flare, it is paramount to stay true to the marketing motivation behind each campaign.

For creativity to be put to work, it has to be appropriately shaped and directed. By using showmanship to instill desire into the consumer, we can communicate an effective solution to the audience. The product advertised becomes the product they want and a return on investment can follow.
